Justbats.com Review | Insights on the World’s Largest Bat Vendor

Here we overview our experience, as well as many bat buyers’ experience, with Justbats.com, the site. This page will serve as our Justbats.com review. We also gather some insight from their take on the performance bat market.

Clearing up our Justbats.com Confusions

Justbats.com Review

Although uncommon, we sometimes get emails about bats people think they purchased on our site. Roughly once a quarter, we get an email or Facebook message thanking us for the bat they bought—honest and understandable mistake on their part. We usually laugh it off with a quick response explaining we aren’t JustBats.com.

Once, we even received a warranty request for a broken bat that was broke. The buyer was asking to be compensated for lost time their 11 year old experienced without the bat. Seriously? As if there was some express indemnity clause in little league bat purchases. Can you imagine dealing with people like this all day? Hence the reason we are not, and never will be, in retail.

Let the official record state, despite our similar names, JustBats.com is not affiliated with our site. We have spent several hours perusing bat details and model numbers on their site. We often link to their site in our reviews as the information on their product pages is usually helpful. We have exchanged emails with their customer service and marketing teams. But, again, we are not them and they are not us.

Justbats.com Review

JustBats Review Picture As far as we have gathered, in speaking with every serious player in the bat industry, Justbats.com is the largest online bat retailer in the world. We would guess, and this is just our own surmising, Justbats.com sells more performance based top shelf bats than any other vendor both online and offline. We are not privy to the numbers, but we don’t think this competition is even close, frankly. There are other legit players for sure, but JustBats is the market leader.

Our experience in purchasing bats, even before we started this blog, was very positive. Shipping was timely, and returning any bat—as long as it was in wrapper—wasn’t a problem. Inventory is huge. Their sales model of free shipping and free returns has shaped the process of every online vendor in the space. All in all, we wouldn’t hesitate buying a bat from justbats.com. There are other sites we trust as well, but we’ll save those reviews for another day.

Justbats.com Answers

We took some time with Justbats.com marketing manager Greg Moore to get some industry insight from the leading vendor. You may find their take on topics we often discuss insightful. It may also be useful to see they are more than a massive machine pumping out performance bats.

Your Take on Same Old Bat, New Paint Job

Justbatreviews Question: Hundreds of bats are released in the performance baseball, softball and fastpitch space every year. Many consumers complain that “the same old bat with a different paint job” approach by manufacturers is at best boring and, at most, disingenuous.  What is your take on the revamping of performance bats every 12 months?

Justbats Answer: I think it’s important to remember that even small changes can make a significant impact on a bat.  The most common changes outside of aesthetics are in material.  A new alloy blend or composite design may not look any different to a consumer, but if it allows a bat maker to make the wall of that bat a fraction of an inch thinner without compromising durability, then it means you are one step closer to reaching the limit a bat can perform at.  With regulations like BBCOR and 1.15bpf, a bat can only perform so well, so each tweak to a bat, however small, is getting a player closer to that line.

Your Take On the Innovation of the 2017 Class of Bats

Justbatreviews Question: What do you think are some of the most noteworthy innovations for the 2017 class of baseball bats?

Justbats Answer: The Rawlings Quatro is probably the most hyped innovative product this year.  It’s a 4 piece bat that swings light and has very little vibration. Oh, and it’s colorful!  Marucci recently launched their best composite SL bat in the Hex Connect line. According to what I’m hearing, they are fielding a lot of requests for that bat.  The Louisville Slugger Solo is Louisville’s attempt to shake up the $299 price point and it is a considerably different bat than the Select 716 from last year.  It’s a one piece hybrid bat that should perform well.

The most important innovations are yet to come, as we see which manufacturers will launch good bats for the upcoming USA Baseball rule change that takes place in the 2nd half of 2017.

Your Take On the Best Bat Ever?

Justbatreviews Question: It’s the bottom of the ninth, two on and two outs. Down by 1. Greg Moore is up. His bat options are as deep and as wide as justbats.com inventory. What do you grab from the justbats shelves, take out of the wrapper and hit with?

Justbats Answer: While they aren’t for sale, we do have a number of BESR bats still in the building, I’m reaching for one of those and watching the ball fly!

(Note: if it really is Greg Moore up to bat, then I’m probably striking out no matter how great the bat is.)

The Best Bat No One Every Heard Of?

Justbatreviews Question: Our Justbatreviews.com site loves to find the ‘best bat no one knows exists’. With access to the largest inventory of performance bats on the planet, what bat in softball, fastpitch and baseball would you consider the, “best bat you’ve never heard of” winner?

Justbats Answer: Baseball – Mizuno Nighthawk – Our resident “best hitter” recommends that bat over almost anything else.

Fastpitch – Marucci Pure – They spent a long time developing this bat and I bet most people don’t know they have a FP bat.
