In May of 2020, DeMarini rolls out a bat trade-in program.
Currently, it allows anyone to trade in a working USA, USSSA (baseball), or BBCOR bat OF ANY MAKE OR MODEL made in the last three years to receive credit towards their next BBCOR DeMarini bat purchase.
At the time of this writing, they will accept any bat commercially sold in the last three years.
You can see which bats are available to trade in on the drop-down menu from their trade-in form.
If you can’t see your bat, you can email customer service and see if they’d be willing to accept what you do have.
The trade-in prices range up to $75.
Here is the breakdown of the MOST you would get for any particular bat. (The rates come down based on the bat’s condition).
Once you’ve completed the form and they’ve accepted the return, DeMarini will pay for your shipping too.
According to the trade-in page site and a few emails exchanged with the folks at DeMarini, a fastpitch trade-in program is not available at this time.
Will it be in the future?
We don’t know. But, they are hinting at it. Looks like it might depend on how this program goes before they extend it. We will see.
For some bats you bought in the last three years, the voucher price is below secondary market value. However, when you factor in your time and dealing with people in the used bat market, it might be worth the trade-in.
For many bats, and many people, a voucher to a BBCOR DeMarini bat is well worth it. We aren’t sure which option is right for you, but very glad to see a bat company stepping to the plate with a trade-in option.
There is no telling how long DeMarini will accept the range of bats they currently are. Many of the bats are donated this charity.
