Easton FireFlex Review

2019 Easton Fire Flex Gold Balanced Review

Get the Right Size Bat

Easton has always been serious about slowpitch bats but rarely seems to beat out Miken when it comes to serious player appeal. The Easton Fire Flex for 2019 in USSSA changes much of that. The bat straight rakes and gets just about as good as any ratings you’ll find on top sticks from Miken. We think the Easton Flex Balanced a perfect bat for the serious player up for a deal, big balanced barrel and serious performance across its entire length.

Our hitters like the balance feel of the Easton Fire Flex, sizing options and the fantastic feel on any type of hit. They use the same connection piece in this Fire Flex Balanced as they do in their top end baseball bats which often see 90+ mph pitches. Although it did require a bit of a break in… Jump to the full review.

Comparable Bats

There are several two piece composite bats in the USSSA slowpitch space. Slugger, Miken and all the major names make a balanced swinging two piece composite USSSA slowpitch softball bat. We do like the Easton Fire Flex, but make no mistake in realizing your options are endless. If you can find another one of those bats for a smoking deal it might be worth it. Granted, when we wrote this article we could find the FireFlex in some sizes for under $200—which we thought was a great price.

2019 Fire Flex Construction

Easton’s Fire Flex Balanced is a two piece composite bat built with a super long barrel and a balanced swing. That is, the swing does not feel end loaded (or like a sledge hammer). Anyone should be able to generate as much bat speed as they possibly can with this bat as the load is more towards the hands.

The connection piece is the same Easton use in their big time baseball and fastpitch bats and has proven its worth across all those sports. Of all the consistent feedback we hear about the Flex is how smooth a feel it is—you can blame that on the connection piece Easton calls the ConnXion+.

Bat Sizing Options

The USSSA Easton Flex Fire Balanced comes in a 34 inch (obviously, all slowpitch bats do) and a drop 8, 7 and 6. The drop, you should know, is the numerical difference between the weight of the bat in ounces and the length of the bat in ounces.
